Service overview

Why aluminium is the frame material of choice for modern projects

Aluminium windows are the specification behind almost every architect-led refurbishment and modern rear extension we work on. Thermally broken profiles combine slim frames, huge glass area, exceptional structural strength and any colour you want — a combination uPVC and timber simply can't match.

The right client is anyone doing a rear extension, glazed gable, ground-floor remodel or new-build where sightlines and daylight matter. Also the natural pairing with bi-folds, lanterns and sliding doors — same profile family, same colour, one coherent look across the elevation.

You need a proper installer because aluminium is unforgiving. Frames are heavier, tolerances are tighter, thermal breaks need to be preserved, and powder-coated finishes are ruined by careless handling. Our team is factory-trained on Smart, Aluk and Jack systems.

The cost of leaving it

What goes wrong when aluminium is fitted badly

Aluminium is a premium spec — installed badly, that premium is wasted.

Cold-bridging and condensation

If the thermal break is compromised or the frame is fixed without proper isolation, cold transmits straight through and condensation forms on the internal reveal.

Scratched, chipped powder coating

Powder coat is a finish, not paint. Once it's chipped or scratched in transit or install, it can't be fully repaired — only replaced.

Racked frames, sticky opening lights

Heavier frames must be packed and fixed correctly. Skip that and vents drop, gaskets don't seal, and the whole window feels loose within a season.

Wrong system, wrong project

Choosing an entry-level residential system for a large commercial aperture leads to deflection and seal failure. System selection is part of the survey — we don't just quote the cheapest option.

Our process

Five steps from enquiry to guaranteed install.

  1. STEP 01

    Free specification survey

We measure, discuss sightline requirements, colour, opening styles and how the windows sit with any adjacent aluminium doors, bi-folds or lanterns.

  2. STEP 02

    Written quote in 1–2 days

Itemised by system and elevation, so you can compare specification like-for-like against other quotes. Valid 30 days.

  3. STEP 03

    Order & manufacture

50% deposit on order. Manufactured in your specified RAL colour with correct thermal breaks and hardware. 4–6 week typical lead time.

  4. STEP 04

    Precision installation

Frames delivered protected, fitted level with correct packers, sealed inside and out, protective film removed on completion.

  5. STEP 05

    Handover, notified, guaranteed

ASSURE notified, 10-year frame guarantee, 5-year glass guarantee, IBG cover. Balance settled on the day.

Benefits

Concrete outcomes — not vague promises.

Maximum daylight

Slim frames mean substantially more glass area than an equivalent uPVC window. Rooms feel bigger and brighter.

Architectural sightlines

Coherent look with bi-folds, sliders and lanterns — the whole rear elevation reads as one design decision.

Any RAL colour, dual-colour available

Powder coat inside and out, matching or different. Anthracite grey, jet black, matt white and RAL-matched colours are all standard.

Strong and long-lasting

Aluminium doesn't warp, doesn't rot, and has the structural strength for large apertures uPVC can't safely span.

Thermally efficient

Modern polyamide thermal breaks give A-rated performance across our specified systems.

10-year cover, IBG-backed

Independently underwritten guarantee — the paperwork is as premium as the frame.

Systems, finishes and window types

Every aluminium job starts with system selection — the right profile for the aperture, the aspect and the neighbouring glazing.

Systems we install

Smart Systems, Aluk and Jack Aluminium — three of the UK's most respected aluminium profile suites, each with residential and commercial ranges.

Opening styles

Casement, tilt-and-turn, top-hung, side-hung and fixed picture units. Tilt-and-turn is especially popular upstairs — safer, easier to clean, wider egress.

Finishes & colours

Standard blacks, anthracites and whites, plus any RAL colour on request. Dual-colour (one colour outside, another inside) is common on modern extensions.

Glazing spec

Argon-filled Low-E double glazing as standard, with solar-control, acoustic laminate and toughened options as required by aspect and Building Regs.

Residential vs commercial

For commercial projects — offices, shopfronts and light industrial — we specify heavier commercial suites, curtain-wall integrations and PAS 24 hardware.

Curtain walling & structural aluminium

Our specialist installer team also handles aluminium structural curtain walling for commercial refurbishments — talk to us about the scope early.

Frequently asked

Everything homeowners ask before booking.

Are aluminium windows worth the extra cost over uPVC?

For slim sightlines, larger apertures, architectural coherence with aluminium doors or lanterns, and premium longevity — yes. For a straight like-for-like replacement of small casement windows, uPVC often gives the better cost-per-benefit.

How thermally efficient are aluminium windows now?

Modern polyamide-broken aluminium systems perform well and comfortably meet current Building Regs. The days of cold, condensation-prone aluminium frames are gone.

What colours are available?

Any RAL colour. Standard finishes include anthracite grey (RAL 7016), jet black (RAL 9005) and matt white — dual-colour finishes available.

How long from order to fit?

4–6 weeks from receipt of deposit, subject to colour and system availability.

Do you fit commercial aluminium?

Yes — including shopfronts and structural aluminium curtain walling. We survey and specify to project requirements.

What guarantee do I get?

10 years on the frame system and powder-coat finish, 5 years on the sealed glass units, IBG-backed.

Can you match my new windows to my aluminium bi-folds?

Yes — matching profile family and RAL colour is a big reason clients choose aluminium in the first place.

Do you handle Building Regs compliance?

Yes — ASSURE registration lets us self-certify, and we hand you the compliance certificate on completion.

Where do you install?

Newport, Blackwood, Caerphilly, Cwmbran, Ebbw Vale, Pontypool, Tredegar and the wider Gwent area.
