Service overview

The service, plainly

We supply and install made-to-measure uPVC entrance doors, back doors and French door sets. Every door is manufactured to the exact aperture we survey, in the style, colour and glazing you specify, and fitted by our own team — not passed to a subcontractor.

It's the right choice if your current door is warped, drops on the hinges, drags on the frame, whistles in a strong wind, or has an old single-cam lock. It's also the natural pairing when you're replacing uPVC windows and want the frames to match front-to-back.

You need a proper installer for security as much as fit. Modern uPVC doors ship with PAS 24-rated hardware; getting the locks, hinges and keeps aligned to that standard is what stops them being defeated in seconds by anyone opportunistic.

The cost of leaving it

What a failing back or front door actually costs you

Doors don't always look failed — they usually feel failed first.

Draughts and heat loss

A door with perished seals bleeds heat 24 hours a day. You feel it most in the hallway or utility — cold floors, cold coats, higher gas bill.

Warped frames and dropped hinges

Old uPVC doors sag over time. Once the sash drops, the multi-point mechanism no longer meets its keeps and the door either won't lock or won't open cleanly.

Snap-vulnerable cylinders

Any cylinder made before the anti-snap standard is a documented weak point. Replacing it is cheap; replacing the door after a break-in is not.

Insurance implications

Some insurers now ask specifically about PAS 24 hardware. If you can't answer yes, a claim can be complicated.

Our process

Five steps from enquiry to guaranteed install.

  1. STEP 01

    Free on-site survey

We measure the aperture, check thresholds and drainage, and walk you through door styles, glazing options and hardware finishes. Usually within a week of your call.

  2. STEP 02

    Written quote in 1–2 days

Itemised so you see the frame, door, glazing, cylinder and hardware breakdown. Valid 30 days — and honoured beyond if supplier pricing hasn't moved.

  3. STEP 03

    Order & manufacture

50% deposit on order. Door built to survey dimensions, quality-checked, and delivered to our workshop for install prep. 4–6 weeks typical lead time.

  4. STEP 04

    Removal and fit

Old door out, aperture prepared, new door and frame fitted level, sealed inside and out, threshold set, and hardware operation demonstrated with you present.

  5. STEP 05

    Notified, guaranteed, done

ASSURE-notified for Building Regs compliance, 10-year product guarantee, IBG, 5-year cover on glass. Keys handed over and the balance settled on the day.

Benefits

Concrete outcomes — not vague promises.

Warmer entrance

Multi-chambered frame plus modern weather-seals eliminates the cold spot most homes have around the front door.

Higher security

Multi-point locking, anti-snap cylinders and hook-lock keeps as standard — the specification insurers ask about.

No warping or repainting

Unlike timber, uPVC doesn't need annual maintenance, sanding or repainting. It looks the way it did on day one for years.

Fit tailored to your aperture

Made to survey, so gaps are minimal and packers are correctly used — no draughty, uneven install.

Style options that suit period or modern

From classic panelled entrance doors to clean-lined French doors and side-panel configurations.

10-year cover with IBG

Guarantee that's underwritten independently — real protection, not just a leaflet.

In detail

Door styles, glass and hardware in detail

A uPVC door decision is really three decisions — frame, glass and hardware. We walk you through all three at survey.

Door types we install

Standard entrance doors (single), stable doors, French door pairs, fully glazed patio-style uPVC, and side-panel / top-light configurations to fill wider or taller apertures.

Glazing

Double-glazed sealed units with warm-edge spacers as standard. Obscure Pilkington patterns for privacy on bathrooms and side gates. Toughened or laminated glass where Building Regs require it near doors.

Colours & foils

White, black, anthracite grey, chartwell green, Irish oak, rosewood — foiled outside, white or matched inside. Colour is manufactured in; there's nothing to repaint or peel.

Hardware

Chrome, brushed steel, gold, black. Handles, letterboxes, knockers and spy-holes chosen at survey and specified on the quote so nothing arrives unexpectedly.

Thresholds & accessibility

Low-threshold options for level access, weathered thresholds for exposed elevations, and drainage detailing designed for Welsh weather.

Residential vs commercial

For small commercial projects, HMOs and rental properties we specify PAS 24 hardware as standard and can advise on fire-rated door options where required.

Frequently asked

Everything homeowners ask before booking.

How much does a new uPVC front door cost?

Price depends on size, glazing spec, hardware finish and any structural change to the aperture. Fixed, itemised quote after a free on-site survey — no 'from' pricing.

How long does installation take?

A single door replacement is usually a same-day fit — often in a morning. French door sets take slightly longer, typically most of a day.

Do you replace the frame or just the door?

We supply and install the frame and door together. Retrofit-only door swaps rarely give a good long-term seal, so we don't recommend them.

Are your doors PAS 24 rated?

Our uPVC doors ship with multi-point locking and anti-snap cylinders. We specify PAS 24-rated systems where security is a priority — flag it on survey.

What guarantee do I get?

10 years on the door and frame, 5 years on the glass, IBG-backed so the cover is independently insured.

Can I match my new door to my existing windows?

Yes — we colour-match the door foil to your existing or newly installed window frames.

Do you take the old door away?

Yes — full removal and responsible disposal is included in the quote.

Do you offer emergency door replacement?

We can prioritise urgent security-related jobs where possible — call us first thing and we'll see what we can do.

Do you install in Newport and the wider valleys?

Yes — Newport, Blackwood, Caerphilly, Cwmbran, Ebbw Vale, Pontypool, Tredegar and every town between.
